Congratulations to Nick Haynes, whose photograph of Charing Cross Mansions, Glasgow has won the Pevsner 60th Anniversary Photography Competition.
The Pevsner Architectural Guides series celebrated its 60th anniversary this year. Begun in 1951, the Guides have been indispensible for both general readers and specialists, providing up-to-date portable guides to the most significant buildings in every part of the country. In celebration of this landmark year, we held an architectural photo competition on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.
We had over 200 fantastic entries to this competition, with entrants sending in photographs captured at locations across Britain. Picking a winner was extremely difficult and the Pevsner team were thrilled at the sheer variety of photographs to choose from. After much deliberation, Nick Haynes’s image of Charing Cross Mansions in Glasgow was picked as the winner. Nick wins a copy of the Pevsner Architectural Glossary as well as any Pevsner Architectural Guide of his choice. However, in recognition of the fantastic variety of entries we received, we have also selected five runners-up, who each win a copy of the Pevsner Architectrual Glossary.
